This passage is the most significant part of the novel, as a story, not a theme, or main idea. It contains more thoughts actually it really does. The passage shows two things, death of piggy, and the broken conch, and what do you think they would mean? In my case, they both mean that Ralph’s companion had been all murdered or left by Jack. First of all, Piggy’s death represents for destroy of Ralph’s brain, and broken conch symbolizes for fallen authority. From this part, Ralph gets falls into despair with his losses which mean this part is complete loss of Ralph’s possessions.
